Voltaj is a very popular band in their home country, with millions of fans, and their song De la capăt has a serious theme: The loneliness of children. "The Eurovision Song Contest has an extremely big visibility, which of course helps the theme of our song and the campaign behind it", frontman Călin Goia explains. "Last year's contest has shown that songs with a serious social message have done extremely well - Conchita Wurst won for Austria, and the Hungarian song also reached the fourth place", he adds.

Voltaj has existed since 1982 as a pop-rock group in Romania already. In 2005 they were awarded the Best Romanian Act in the MTV Europe Music Awards. The band currently consists of Călin Goia (vocals), Gabi "Porcus" Constantin (electric guitar), Adrian Cristescu (keyboards), Valeriu "Prunus" Ionescu (bass guitar), and Oliver Sterian (drums). They have released more than 20 albums so far.
