In the seventh episode of Live from the Streets, beatsmith Mr. Green heads to Greece to collect a whole slew of foreign sounds. Read on for a statement from the Green man himself:
"This episode is special because it's our first official international project. The ultimate goal is to take this little web series that started in my bedroom to every corner of the globe and this is a step in the right direction. Here's how it went down:
When I was in Greece touring with Psycho Realm, the promotion company, "rapstage.gr" hooked my crew up with an old video camera to collect footage.
The first leg of the trip was in Thessaloniki, where we filmed a dope street musician playing traditional Greek music. A few blocks from the street musician we bumped into protesters who had gathered together to speak out against the dangerous conditions in the local gold mines. We also met a couple dudes who were hanging out at a local cafe, they were mad cool and let us film them play some music.
That night, I did a show and we filmed the crowd saying "LIVE." The next day, we headed to Athens and met a cool ass gypsy kid who played us some accordion and traded hats with me. Then we met up with MC Yinka and recorded him spitting verses in both English and Greek. Finally, I hung out with the Buns Graffiti crew and got some footage of them getting busy.
Look out for more "Live from the Streets: Abroad" episodes in the future.
Thanks for watching,
-Green

P.P.S. FYI, the street sections were filmed by Greek locals using old
video cameras and camera phones, please excuse the poor quality."
