Preparations for the 2011 edition of the Melodifestivalen are underway in Sweden's capital Stockholm where on Saturday, 12 March 2011 ten artists will be competing for the ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 to be held in Duesseldorf, Germany in May.
The winner of the Melodifestivalen 2011 will officially also represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest.
In honour of the Melodifestivalen which is Sweden's biggest annual music event, the city of Stockholm hosted a nice Welcome Reception for the participating artists and journalists national and international. During the reception the team of oikotimes and Radio International had the pleasure to meet and interview some of the artists.
In this clip watch the interview with one of th biggest songwriters of Sweden - Fredrik Kempe. He has two songs in the Melodifestivalen 2011 namely "The King" performed by the Playtones and "Popular" by Eric Saade.
He is also responsible for previous Swedish Eurovision entries such as "Hero" from 2008, "La voix" 2009 and many many more. Find out more in the interview available below.
