"As for the elaborate, beat-driven song, Etnik -- who takes inspiration from the likes of Boys Noize, Kraftwerk and Johann Sebastian Bach -- tells Rolling Stone, "I like perfume commercials, because they're usually very aesthetic and sophisticated, sometimes a little mysterious. I was inspired by that for 'Neon Daze.' I used drum samples to add that certain kind of glamour to the sound of the track. The main synth is a little off-tone, which almost makes it sound wrong. But to me this imperfection made the track completely perfect."
