A late power play goal gave SKA a narrow victory over Dynamo in game two of this Western Conference semi-final, tying the teams at 1-1 and snapping the Muscovites’ winning run against the Army Men. Thursday’s 4-1 success in the series opener made it five wins from five for Dynamo against SKA this season, but Kirill Marchenko snapped that streak with a 58th-minute effort.

East: Overtime win puts Avangard back in the series. March 20 round-up
Sergei Tolchinsky, Avangard’s top scorer in post season, struck again to give his team victory in this game and tie the series before the action moves to Magnitogorsk for game three on Monday. Tolchinsky got his fourth goal of the playoffs, moving to 10 points in seven games, when he beat Vasily Koshechkin in the 75th minute to end Metallurg’s resistance.
