Zigbee Tuya Water Leak Sensor with 4 Contacts: Home Assistant / Zigbee2MQTT + Tests

In this video, I will show an inexpensive Zigbee Tuya water leak sensor that is truly useful for early water detection. It has not two but four contact pads—on the top and on the bottom—so it reacts not only when there is already a puddle on the floor, but also when water is just starting to drip from a pipe or from under the sink. This is a practical option: place it under the sink, near the main water inlet, or in the boiler room, and you can sleep more peacefully.
Next, everything is exactly how you like it: a breakdown of the design and build quality, pairing in Tuya / Smart Life via a Zigbee gateway, and testing notifications and the event log. Then I will show how it works in Home Assistant—first through the Tuya integration and then directly via Zigbee2MQTT. In the final part, we will build a simple but very useful automation: when a leak is detected, the sensor raises an alert and sends a command to a Moes actuator to shut off the water supply. We will test both the top and bottom contacts—using dripping water and a minimal water level.
