Shell has released its latest fuel, V-Power Nitro+, which is designed to minimize negative effects from gunk (carbon deposits), corrosion, and wear. They’ve tested their own fuel versus competitive premium gasolines, and have strong claims against the competition. Shell V-Power Nitro+ eliminates on average 60% of carbon deposits on intake valves with port injected vehicles within the first tank. It offers unbeatable protection against gunk and corrosion, and offers superior protection against wear.
Shell has hosted me at its labs in Houston and at pre-launch events for Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline.
NOTE: Engine valves shown are from direct injection engines. Carbon buildup will be more severe without fuel sprayed over the intake valves.
Shell uses industry standard testing to back up its claims, including:
ASTM D6201 - astm.org/Standards/D6201.htm
ASTM D7548 - astm.org/Standards/D7548.htm
ASTM D665 - astm.org/Standards/D665.htm
ASTM D6079 - astm.org/Standards/D6079.htm
