Good feedback through the steering means the BMW 1 Series Coupe is fun to drive. Diesel versions are frugal and the driving position is spot-on.

It's not the sleekest of coupes and some of the petrol engines need to be worked surprisingly hard. M Sport models have a firm ride and some interior trim isn't up to usual BMW standards
