The Times Marvel Totally Retconned Their Characters

Everyone knows that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has absolutely no shortage of interesting characters. Some casual comic book fans may have trouble keeping them all straight and, apparently, Marvel Studios does too. We’ll point out one big slip up you might not have noticed about Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy and what impact it had on Avengers: Infinity War and her interactions with the Mad Titan Thanos. Tom Holland is known for leaking spoilers, but he also retconned a piece of his character Peter Parker’s backstory from before he was Spider-Man.
Sometimes, a character is so good you just want to get more than one use out of him. That’s why the movie Thor wasn’t the last time we saw the hilarious Kronan Korg and we got to get reacquainted with him during Thor: Ragnarok. Interestingly enough, a lot of these character changes involve Avengers veteran Tony Stark. We’ll talk about whatever happened to all of his Iron Man suits and his impact on War Machine, and although he’s no longer with us, even Marvel comic book legend Stan Lee got his MCU character retconned.
What do you think about the ways these characters were retconned during their time in the MCU? Do you think this is an unavoidable occurrence when you have as many characters and storylines as Marvel does or is it a sign of lazy writing? Let us know what your opinion is in the comments section and then click on the subscribe button for more videos from us here at CBR.
