The Mitsubishi L200 is the most striking looking pick-up on the market, thanks to looks inspired by the firm's desert rally cars. It's aimed at tempting exisiting SUV owners towards something more practical, while retaining loyal fans who admire its rugged credentials. It's available in four-door Double Cab, or two-door Club Cab and Single Cab guises, but it's the Double Cab model that offers the most car-like interior. The L200 is fitted with a turbocharged 2.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine with either 134bhp or 175bhp. Cabin quality is much improved over previous models, and comfort is on a par with similarly priced SUVs. The L200's off-road ability is impressive, but it's not so good on tarmac, as it struggles to hide its commercial underpinnings. The driving position is high, which provides a great view of the road, but the L200's size is it's biggest problem: parking can be tricky without the optional rear-view camera.
