Meet the Smart #1 Brabus!
It’s the top-of-the-range performance edition of the new Smart #1, but the question is, does it deserve to come adorned with the Brabus name, which is often synonymous with luxury and high performance?
Well, let’s start off with the power stats. The normal #1 comes with a single electric motor which can produce 272hp. However this Brabus edition comes with an additional electric motor on the front axel, and combined it can put down 428hp! What’s more, it also has a claimed 0-60mph time of just 3.9 seconds!
Then we have the design, and there are clearly a number of styling changes over the normal car. At the front you have two vents in the bonnet, along with a red effect on the grille and an extended front splitter. There are exclusive alloy designs included, along with an extended side skirt with some red trim. Then finally at the back the are some more visual changes, including an extended spoiler. All-in-all the changes are mostly visual, but it certainly looks more aggressive than the normal #1!
Step inside and it’s very much the same story. You’ll find smatterings of red stitching and colouring throughout the cabin, but otherwise, the #1 Brabus is pretty much identical to the normal car - but that’s no bad thing!
The Smart #1 Brabus costs around £43,000 - about £4,000 more than the range-topping Smart #1. So is it worth it?! You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!
