This is the Ferrari Purosangue!
It’s Ferrari’s first SUV (even though they don’t officially call it an SUV), and Mat’s about to find out if it can compete with class-leading performance SUVs like the Lamborghini Urus, Aston Martin DBX and Bentley Bentayga!
When it comes to the design, it looks like a pretty imposing piece of kit. Up front, the slim DRLs sit separate from the main headlamps, and there are several vents which all serve a real purpose. Along the side, you’ll find even more vents, and if anything we think the side profile makes the Purosangue look more like a long hatchback than a proper SUV! Around the back, there are several intricate designs, even more vents, and a glorious set of quad tailpipes.
Step inside and the Purosangue is a seriously nice place to be. The driver has a huge digital dial screen, and there’s even a separate screen on the dash for the passenger! The digital dial screen works like an infotainment screen for the driver, although the fact that it’s all controlled through touch-sensitive buttons is a bit annoying. The minimalist button design on the centre console is a nice touch, and back seat passengers are also treated to the same figure-hugging sports seats as found in the front.
There’s only one engine to choose from, but it’s a beauty - a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 that delivers 725hp and 716Nm! What’s more, it’s the only SUV in the world that comes with a V12 as standard!
But of course, it’s a Ferrari, so it doesn’t come cheap. The price starts at around £313,000, but the car we have here (which has had a load of options added) costs an eye-watering £430,000!! So is it worth it? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!
