What would the motorcycling world be without the Triumph Speed Triple? In a sadder, quieter place, that’s what. With its rowdy debut in the ‘90s, Triumph’s heavyweight streetfighter established the gold standard for big-bore, no-nonsense hooliganism. Now, for 2025, the Speed Triple 1200 RS gets sharper, smarter, and somehow even more unhinged — just the way we like it.
At the heart of the beast is the ever-charismatic 1160cc inline-triple, belting out a claimed 180.5 horsepower at 10,750 rpm and 94.4 lb-ft of torque at 8,750 rpm. That’s a smidge more power and torque, arriving a bit sooner, all while staying Euro5+ compliant. Cheeky. The secret? A new exhaust and revised mapping, letting this British banshee scream its way to an 11,150-rpm redline.
But it’s not all about brute force. Triumph’s flagship naked joins the semi-active suspension elite with Öhlins’ latest Smart EC3 system, bringing real-time damping adjustments that actually work. Whether you're carving up a backroad or knee-down at Portimão Circuit — rain or shine — the Speedy is now more planted than ever. And speaking of electronics, the 2025 model finally introduces independent, adjustable wheelie control. That’s right, you can now dial in just how skyward you’d like to get.
At $19,995, the Speed Triple 1200 RS remains Triumph’s sole liter-class sport offering, now that the half-faired RR has exited stage left. Lighter, sharper, and still ready to pick a fight with anything on two wheels, this is the most refined Speed Triple yet. A hooligan with manners… or at least some attempt at them.
