We head to Chocolate Mountain Ranch in Southern California for our first ride on the all-new 2026 Honda CRF300F, Honda’s latest evolution of its legendary trail bike lineup. Building on decades of XR and CRF heritage, the CRF300F brings more power, improved suspension, and a long-overdue six-speed gearbox—without losing the simplicity and reliability Honda is known for.
The new 294cc engine delivers noticeably stronger midrange power, smoother delivery, and better climbing ability, while added updates like an oil cooler, upgraded clutch, and revised intake and exhaust help keep performance consistent on long trail rides. Suspension sees meaningful improvements too, with increased travel, better control, and a more planted feel that makes the bike easier and more fun to ride in technical terrain.
Despite being slightly heavier on paper, the CRF300F feels lighter and more balanced on the trail, with refined ergonomics, a confidence-inspiring seat height, and sharper styling that gives it a more aggressive CRF look. Best of all, Honda managed to improve nearly everything while keeping the price the same.
At $4,999, the 2026 CRF300F stands out as one of the best values in off-road motorcycling—approachable for beginners, enjoyable for experienced riders, and built to last.
