The Arai XD-5 is the long-awaited evolution of the XD-4, and as you’d expect from Arai, it’s packed with thoughtful refinements.
In this In Gear review, we break down what makes the XD-5 different from the XD-4, including its updated shell design, improved ventilation, revised peak, VAS-A shield system, and Snell M2025 certification. On paper, it’s everything you want in a premium ADV helmet.
On the road? It’s easily one of the most comfortable adventure helmets I’ve worn. The fit is plush, supportive, and genuinely suitable for all-day riding.
But there’s one big caveat: noise. Even for someone like me who always wears earplugs, the XD-5 is extremely loud. The airflow is excellent, but that ventilation comes with a price.
So is the XD-5 worth the premium price tag? Watch to find out who this helmet is really for — and who might want to look elsewhere.
