facebook.com/XCAROfficial Lamborghini's 'entry' car, the Gallardo is, after nine years in the spotlight is still being dragged out to play. This time the 'ol girl's been given a bit of a facelift to keep things nice and fresh as it enters what should be its twilight years.
The 'new' car keeps it V10 and produces 560bhp (ish). There are a few differences from the outgoing car, though. They all get a new front end, the Coupé gets a sort-of steeped rear deck to show off the engine, the drop top stays oddly similar to the current model (bar the new front, obviously) and they all look as though it's gone through some sort of Ivan Drago style training to make sure it looks suitably mad.
While a 'new' Gallardo is all well and good, it smells a little. The platform it's based on is shared with the Audi R8 which is also getting refresh this year. Both cars are undoubtedly brilliant, but surely it's time for a step change?
It's easy to see why the baby-Lambo has been brought in line with the madder-than-a-mad-thing Aventador, but why not go all out and create something new?
Lambo should be creating ground breaking, mad, awesome cars. Instead we've got a nine year old in a dress. Whichever way you look at it, it's a bit weird...
