Regenerative braking saves energy. How much energy does regenerative braking save? It of course comes down to the vehicles speed, and mass, and ultimately is a product of kinetic energy. This video explains how much energy a 1500 kg car saves by stopping from 100 km/h to 0, assuming no air resistance.
