In this video, Matt goes to the Bonneville Salt Flats for the first time ever to test Volkswagen's Jetta LSR, or Land Speed Racer. Powered by a modified version of the standard 2.0L TFSI engine found in the GTI and with a 6-speed manual transmission and a completely stock body, this Jetta is capable of speeds roughly 90 mph beyond the factory-designed top speed. While it managed to run 210 MPH in competition during speed week, Matt takes it up a notch, literally, to 211, before pulling the chute.
Volkswagen of America provided travel, accomodations, meals, and even the racing gear when Delta lost my bag, for this video.
