Traditional people carriers and diesel engines are falling by the wayside, with cars like the Peugeot e-Rifter silently taking their place. The e-Rifter is a sister car to the Citroen e-Berlingo, and that little ‘e’ signifies that it’s fully electric. There used to be a diesel option, but not any more. Managing over 150 miles of range, the e-Rifter could be the perfect school run vehicle - one that’s also capable of the odd longer journey too. You get chunky, funky SUV styling, a palatial amount of space and a refined driving experience. But there’s no getting away from its commercial vehicle underpinnings, and the e-Rifter isn’t cheap to buy. Should you consider it? Nicola puts it to the test.
