This is the updated Hyundai i30 N, and Mat’s about to find out if it has what it takes to stand out against competitors such as the Golf GTI, Civic Type R and Octavia vRS!
So what’s new? Well although you may have the same engine as before (a 2-litre 4 cylinder turbo petrol), the power output has been increased! The new i30 N now puts down 280hp and 392Nm of torque.
That’s not all that’s changed, though! There are a few subtle exterior tweaks, and it comes with all the usual hot hatch design cues, including red brake callipers, a roof spoiler and larger exhaust tips. It’s also got a new tail light design as well!
On the inside, it’s all very much the same as before, although you’ll find new seats (naturally embossed with an N symbol) along with a larger infotainment screen.
The price starts from £34,000, so is it the must-have hot hatch of 2022? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!
