Electrification is clearly the future for small city runarounds. However, some manufacturers are looking to the past for design cues - in a good way...

The Honda e has dinky dimensions and doe eyes, reminiscent of its 80s ancestor, the Honda City. Underneath its retro exterior, it has a 35.5kWh battery and an electric motor that produces 152bhp. The Fiat 500 Electric looks like... well, a Fiat 500 - a tried and tested shape which has barely changed since the 50s. It doesn't have as much power as its Japanese rival (116bhp) but it does come in almost 200kgs lighter.
