Did you know about the new Ice Grip symbol for winter tires? Today we’re checking out Continental’s latest winter tire, the Viking Contact 8. It still carries the familiar 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF), meaning it delivers at least 10% better traction in an acceleration test on packed snow compared to a reference tire. However, it also has the new Ice Grip symbol, which involves a standard test showing it has at least 18% better braking on ice versus a reference tire. The Viking Contact 8 features a unique tread compound & pattern, including 3D-sipes, maximizing grip in winter conditions. It’s also designed to minimize rolling resistance, and has an “A” noise rating in all sizes, minimizing tire noise. Next time you’re in the market for winter tires, consider looking for tires with the Ice Grip symbol!
