We get behind the wheel of this racy track version of the SEAT Leon in this video review
The SEAT Leon Cup Racer is essentially a sporty version of the SEAT Leon. It's based on the forthcoming Cupra Leon road car, but the body's 40cm wider. On the outside, it looks pretty radical, with bulging wheel arches and a prominent spoiler.
It's the same story on the inside, in fact, there's not much you'd recognise from the standard Leon. There's the standard safety cage and low-slung seating position. Meanwhile, there's plenty of controls on the steering wheel, which will allow you to adjust things like the differential, radio, and pit lane speed limiter.
The SEAT Leon Cup Racer is powered by a 2.0-litre TFSi engine, which was designed with customer motor sport in mind. Thanks to the car's radical aerodynamics and extra width, it's within the forthcoming WTCC regulations.
Overall, it's spectacular to look at and fun to drive, too. If SEAT do decide to come back to the WTCC at any time in the future then they've got a readymade contender. All they need to do is switch the engine.
