Mobil 1 Annual Protection is a motor oil that’s designed to last a full year, or 20,000 miles. It’s available in 0W-20, 5W-20, and 5W-30 viscosity grades. In this video we’ll be answering three questions:

AAA conducted a study that showed synthetic oils perform 47% better than conventional oils, averaged across eight different ASTM oil tests with 5W-20 motor oils.

Synthetic oils have major advantages over conventional oils, including: shear stability - the ability of an oil to maintain film thickness at high temperatures, cold temperature pumpability - the ability for oil to remain thin enough to flow at extremely cold temperatures, volatility - the tendency for oil to burn off and evaporate at high temperatures, and oxidation viscosity changes - the exposure to air, heat, and pressure causes oil to thicken with time.
