Acura has announced that it will tackle the 2018 IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship with its new and aggressive-looking Acura ARX-05 race car.

While it was just uncovered during Monterey Car Week in California, the car will mark its competition debut sometime in January for the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Drivers Juan Pablo Montoya and Dane Cameron have been confirmed to pilot one of the two Acura Daytona Prototypes for Team Penske. Montoya is known for winning the Indy 500 twice, an IndyCar Championship, the 24 hours of Daytona, and the Monaco Grand Prix. He is also helping design the 2018 IndyCar aero kit for the next season. Cameron has won 12 career sports car wins across Grand-Am, American Le Mans, and the WeatherTech Sports Car Championship.

Under the hood of the new Acura ARX-05 race car is a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 similar to any of the V6s you’d find powering the TLX, RLX, MD, and NSX.
