In today's video, I'll be working through the most major issue I discovered when test fitting the new V8, the cooling system. Even though a 5.7L (350 cu/in) small block is very similar to the 4.3L V6 that came out of the truck, it of course is still a larger engine. When the transmission is lined up close to where it was originally, the engine sits further forward due to the 2 extra cylinders. Therefore, some creativity comes into play. There is more than one way to free up room, as discussed in the video, but at the end of the day, I wanted to try something myself and learn from it. The results were surprising to say the least!
