Broken outer door handles on 1996-2004 Acura/Honda RL's is a common problem. This video shows you all the steps on how to replace the outer door handle on your RL if you have a broken one.
It can be difficult to access some of the parts, and disconnecting the rod from the door handle mechanism can result in breakage. Therefore I would recommend you consider purchasing the inner part of the door handle, or make sure your local parts store has it in stock before you start the procedure.
You may also need to have some parts painted, but if you get your part directly from the manufacturer you won't have to worry about that. You'll just need the color code for your vehicle which I show the location of in the video.
