The Accent is roomier than you'd think based on its size. There's ample head- and legroom for tall drivers and front passengers.

The EPA rates the 130-horepower 2018 Accent SE at 28 mpg city and 37 mpg highway, but we were seeing figures closer to 30 in the city and 41 on the highway.

There is a small but capable infotainment system — sadly, it lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Hyundai has not yet added standard active safety systems to its base model Accent SE, but at $14,495 base price, it is very competitive.

Other Pros: The 2018 Accent SE packs a 10-year warranty, a backup camera you can actually use and a price tag that won't leave you wondering where all your money went. If this is your shopping segment, the Accent is well worth a look and a test drive.
