The stylish Peugeot 308 is a quiet cruiser, with excellent diesel engines. It has an attractive interior and plenty of safety kit, and it's good value for money.

Not one of the best to drive: the ride is firm and the steering imprecise. Visibility isn't great, the driving position is offset and rear legroom could be better.
