The Mercedes GLS600 Maybach is the first ever SUV sold under the Maybach name, and the most expensive, luxurious mass-produced vehicle ever built in America. Based on the GLS-class, the Maybach 600 gets a 550HP Twin-Turbo V8 and all-wheel drive, but that's not really what it's about. The Maybach is a factory limo truck, with reclining heated/cooled massage seats at all four corners. It has a champagne fridge, heated and cooled cupholders, spa airflow programs with scents, and the over-the-top luxury tech goes on and on. But the real party trick is the electrohydraulic suspension, which offers unsurpassable isolation from the road below and comically ridiculous control, with "bouncing" Recovery Mode and individual wheel height adjustability. At $175,000 as tested, it's not cheap, but compared to a Bentayga, Urus, or Cullinan, and even some Panameras, it's a staggeringly good value.
