Designed and built in Texas, with a reputation for reliability, the Toyota Tundra has been a popular choice in the truck community for a long time. The all-new Tundra has a new engine, suspension, and more. Will it carry the torch? Zack Klapman and Larry Chen went to Texas to find out.


The all-new for 2022 Toyota Tundra comes with some very big changes: the only engine is a twin-turbo V6 instead of a range of V8s; The "big" engine is a hybrid setup (which we were not able to test); the suspension has been redesigned; the bed is a composite; and it has a range of electronic assistants designed to make your life easier.

Larry Chen happened to be on the same launch so he and Zack Klapman spent the day testing several trim levels of the new Tundra, including the outgoing 2021 model. How does the new one handle rocks, water, a trailer, and a highway commute?
