The Porsche Boxster may be seen as the little brother to the 911 but it’s one of the most important cars in the company’s history. For 25 years Porsche has been building the mid-engine soft top and selling it (and its Cayman offspring) with great success, out-selling cars like the BMW Z4, Mercedes SLK, and Nissan 370Z.
The question is: are there too many Boxster variants? Do they overlap or do they each cater to a different type of driver? Which one should you buy? Only one way to find out. So we drove the 2021 Porsche 718 T, the Boxster GTS 4.0, Boxster Spyder, and the 2021 Boxster 25 Years, all in one day!
*Correction: No trim level of Boxster has double wishbone suspension. The Spyder has same front axle and brakes as the GT3 but not the same control arms.
