The new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS is a spectacularly good driver's car. That much we know. With 493bhp from 4.0-litres, quite a lot of the experience is about its engine. It'll do 0-62mph in 3.4sec and has a 196mph top speed.
New rivals are rare. So, we wondered, how does it stack up against some of the most spectacular hardcore sports cars from the past 15 years?
Step forward the BMW M3 GTS, of E92 vintage. In 2010 its 4.4-litre engine made 444bhp which gave it a 0-62mph time of 4.4sec and a 190mph top speed.
Then there's the Mercedes AMG SLS Black Series, the 6.2-litre V8 monster from 2013 with 622bhp, a 0-62mph time of 3.6sec and a 196mph top speed.
They're all very special cars to drive. But how do they feel today? Join Matt Saunders and Matt Prior as they find out.
