The 1973 Porsche 911 2.7RS broke new ground for Porsche. It is a car of firsts: the first consumer grade car designed by the motorsports team; the first 911 with a staggered stance; the first time a fixed wing was installed at the factory (the CSL's wing came in the trunk). The success of this car, in showrooms and at race tracks, paved the way for the GT program we know today. The new 992 GT3 RS would not be here if it weren't for the 2.7RS.
