Meet Porsche’s all-new all-electric hypercar!
This is the Mission X. It’s Porsche’s first hypercar since the 918 Spyder, and it’s got some pretty lofty ambitions! Porsche is hoping the Mission X will set the record as the fastest road-legal car to complete a lap on the Nürburgring!
So let’s take a closer look at this incredible EV. Starting with the looks, this is easily one of the most subtle hypercars we’ve ever seen. Porsche wants to show that hypercars don’t just have to look aggressive, and can still hit incredible speeds without being plastered in huge aero. Up front, the most notable design feature is the vertical bars that’ll make up the headlights and indicators. Along the side, it’s easy to see how the Mission X has been inspired by the 963 racing car, as it’s very low and very long. Take a step around the back and the rear end is dominated by an absolutely huge diffuser, which will help the Mission X create more downforce than the new GT3 RS!
If anything, the interior of the Mission X is wilder than the exterior! The bucket seats look futuristic and properly figure-hugging, while the steering wheel makes Tesla’s yoke look prehistoric, coming plastered with a number of buttons and dials. We’re not so sure about the white handles though - they just scream dirt magnets to us! Thankfully though Porsche has kept up with some traditions - you’ll still find an analogue stopwatch up on the dash!
When it comes to performance stats… Well, Porsche hasn’t revealed them yet. But one thing we do know is it’ll have a power-to-weight ratio of 1,000hp per tonne. So all we know is, it’s likely to spill over to around 1,300hp+! But then again, it’ll need to if it’s going to beat the Nürburgring lap record currently held by the AMG ONE!
So what do you think - would you pick this over the AMG ONE? And could it beat the Nürburgring lap record? Stick with Mat and take a closer look for yourself!
