🏁 Bridgestone Racing Battlax V03 Review | Track Tested at Chang International Circuit
What happens when Bridgestone takes lessons from world endurance racing and builds its most advanced slick tire yet?
We headed to Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand to test the new Bridgestone Racing Battlax V03, the company’s latest halo product in its racing tire lineup. Mounted on a Yamaha Austria Racing Team (YART) Endurance World Championship–spec R1, the V03 represents the next step beyond the popular Battlax V02.
Across multiple track sessions, we sampled different front and rear compounds, compared the V03 directly against the V02, and pushed the tires to see how they performed under real racing conditions.
What makes the Battlax V03 different?
- All-new tire construction and updated compounds
- Increased contact patch for improved traction and stability
- New Sprint compound rear for maximum track performance
Bridgestone claims the V03 can deliver up to 1.9% faster lap times compared to the V02, and after spending a full day on track, the performance gains were immediately noticeable.
The V03 offers incredible braking stability, corner grip, and predictable handling, allowing riders to push deeper into corners and accelerate harder on exit. Even compared back-to-back with the V02, the V03’s revised profile provides a more planted feel through the apex while maintaining responsive steering.
For racers and serious track-day riders considering the jump from DOT track tires to full slicks, the Battlax V03 raises the performance ceiling even higher.
Tire Specs: Front: 120/60R17
Rear: 200/60R17 (190/60 coming later)
Compounds: Front: Soft, Soft/Medium
Rear: Soft, Medium, Sprint
Hot pressures used during testing:
Front: 33 PSI
Rear: 26 PSI
With Endurance World Championship–derived technology, the Bridgestone Racing Battlax V03 is designed to give riders maximum confidence when pushing their limits on track.
