In the two years since its release in October 2018, PayPay is a smartphone payment service that pays using QR codes and barcodes, which have exceeded 33 million registered users *. PayPay Corporation, which is in charge of development and operation, has adopted Amazon Web Services (AWS) as the infrastructure of the service and is building a distributed system using a microservice architecture. It took only 3 months from the development decision to the release. The first launch was achieved by utilizing AWS and a development system by multinational members from Japan, India, Canada, etc. Even now, we are continuing to update the service with the aim of evolving into a "super app".
