Android Developer Story: Threads built in only 5 months with 90% of UI in Compose

Threads is a text-based conversation app built by the Instagram team at Meta. The engineering team was able to build and ship the app in only 5 months, which exceeded their expectations for building such a high quality app of this complexity and scale. Much of this speed is due to the ease and simplicity of Jetpack Compose: over 90% of their UI was built using Jetpack Compose. Richard Zadorozny, software engineer at Threads, talks about the team's journey with Compose, what they liked about it, and how it made it faster and easier for them to launch their new app.
