In our latest Lab Session, we partnered with Jacob Collier, a musician renowned for his passion in enabling others to find their version of creative freedom to explore how generative AI music tools, like MusicFX DJ break down barriers to accessing creative tools, making creative expression more inclusive and accessible to people of all backgrounds and skill levels, ultimately expanding the possibilities for artistic innovation and self-expression.

Jacob has spent the last year working with Google DeepMind and Google Labs to help shape the future of MusicFX DJ, a gen AI music tool where users can generate and steer a real-time stream of music, creating a continuously evolving music session. It puts you in the creative driver's seat as you shape the music using prompts in real-time like genres, instruments, or emotions, and can download and share snippets up to :60s.

His work with the MusicFX team was geared towards making it simpler to use, especially for new or aspiring musicians. This collaboration demonstrates the importance of experimentation and artist partnerships in pushing the boundaries of creative tools.
