2011 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Vaquero vs. 2011 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Custom

Cruiser giant Harley-Davidson is the standard bear for touring cruisers, but it's not the only game in town. We decided to see how Kawasaki's latest Vulcan 1700, the Vaquero, stands up against the 2011 Harley-Davidson Road Glide.

The current crop of race-repli sportbikes isn't the only place you'll find closely matched motorcycles all vying for the attention and dollars of the same batch of customers. The cruiser world is starting to see its share of tit-for-tat, too.

Harley-Davidson remains the dominant force in all of cruiserdom in the U.S., especially so in the bagger scene. But starting only two years ago Victory Motorcycles stepped up its attack on its Midwestern neighbor when the Polaris Industries-owned company introduced the Cross Roads and Cross Country touring cruisers.
