We head to Elvington air field, a former NASA Space Shuttle landing site with a two-mile long runway, to see if Lord Paul Drayson can break a record which has stood for 39 years. Using a converted Le Mans racing car, he plans to average more than 200mph and claim the title of fastest sub-1000kg electric car. With 850bhp the racer can hit 60mph in 3 seconds, but with no downforce, can he keep it from spinning out at triple-digit speeds?
