The Ford Lightning EV is amazing but what if you have range anxiety? The 2021 Ford F-150 4x4 SuperCrew Lariat (with PowerBoost and FX4 package) might be the answer. It has turbos, a hybrid system, power outlets in the bed, tons of driver assistance aids, a name longer than the Godfather series, and a disappearing gear lever.

To find out how well it works we took it into the California desert for an overlanding trip. Matt drove a Sprinter van built by Off Highway Vans, and Zack drove the F-150.
