Say hello to the all-new Porsche Macan!
Porsche’s mini SUV has had a major revamp for 2024, and there’s one key difference - it’s gone fully ELECTRIC! That’s right, the ICE-powered Macan is officially gone forever. But does this all-electric SUV have what it takes to win over the Porsche faithful?
Well, let’s take a closer look. Starting with the exterior design, the new Macan doesn’t stray too far from the old Macan. Starting at the front the grille has been swapped for a larger, lower air intake, and the new headlights are almost exactly the same as what you’ll find on the Taycan. The side-on silhouette is almost identical to the previous Macan, and while there have been a few design changes to the rear end, we don’t think it’s that much of an improvement compared to the old model!
Step inside and the new Macan is pretty similar to the Taycan. But of course, that’s no bad thing! The driver gets a curved display, there’s a large infotainment screen in the middle, and even the front passenger gets their own screen built into the dash! As you’d expect the cabin is packed full of high-quality, soft-touch materials, and the seats look super comfortable.
One thing this all-electric Macan isn’t short on is performance! The entry-level dual-motor can produce 408hp, while the top-of-the-range Turbo can put down 640hp and an eye-watering 1,130Nm of torque - that’s 80Nm more than the Taycan Turbo S! Porsche also claims it should be able to hit 60mph in just 3.3 seconds.
The new Macan will start at around £70,000, rising to around £95,000 for the Turbo edition. But is it worth it?! You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!
