This is the new Skoda Superb!
It’s the all-new version of Skoda’s big, practical family car, and Mat's going to undertake a vigorous, in-depth review to see if it’s still one of the leading cars in its class.
In terms of the design, the Superb is stylish from the front all the way to the rear. The front end has a smart black grille with a chrome surround, and this is flanked by sharp-edged vents. Along the side alloy wheels range between 17” - 19”, and a crease runs along the car’s length. There’s a huge Skoda badge at the back, and there are no fake vents or exhausts to be found anywhere!
The stylish design continues on the inside, with a large infotainment screen on the centre of the dash as well as a large digital dial display. Eco-friendly materials are used throughout the cabin, although we’re not sure about the strange xylophone-style design on the passenger’s side of the cabin!
When it comes to engines, there are two petrol and two diesel available. The entry-level is a 1.5-litre turbo petrol with 150hp, while there’s also a 2-litre turbo petrol with 265hp. The former only has front-wheel drive, while the 2-litre has all-wheel drive. The two diesels available are 2-litre turbos, and they deliver 150hp or 193hp, depending on which you choose.
The Superb starts from around £35,000, while the car we have here for this review (with options added) costs around £41,000. So is it the must-have family car? Stick with Mat and see for yourself!
