Say it with me now: Box. B-O-X. That's what we're checking out today, a beautiful red Box Chevy roaming the streets of New York. Did I mention it's not a donk?
"Put this in the interview. A donk is a Chevy Caprice or Impala from 1971 to 1976. Those are the years. Those are the options. This is a Box Chevy," owner Jordan Hill says.

The concept of massive wheels and candy paint on old American sedans that originated with African-Americans across the south has a lot of names and expressions, but Jordan's 1987 Chevy Caprice Classic Brougham LS is the definition of a Box Chevy.
Like many people up north, Jordan first learned about donks and hi-risers through southern hip-hop music videos in the 1990s and 2000s. He was immediately hooked, but he wouldn't get a chance to build his own until later in life, when he actually won this '87 Caprice in a YouTube giveaway.
[Yes, we recognize it's ironic to be running this video a few weeks after one where we broke down all the ways those giveaways can scam you: youtube.com/watch?v=EuQ6sjDBE7... ]
Now it's got an LS2 V8, 26-inch Forgiato wheels, gorgeous paint, a digital dash, and that incredible OG plush velour interior. The soft suspension soaks up bumps despite the super low-profile tires. It's basically a perfect cruiser.
"Sometimes I just ride for hours with no music. I just listen to the engine, sunroof down, all the windows down, and just ride. It's just so relaxing," he says. "People think you're trying to be seen, like, going around. It's like nah, I'm not trying to be seen. I'm actually trying to be by myself."
