If you’ve ever watched racing live on television, then you’ve seen the influence of Terry Lingner. Considered by us to be the Godfather of modern motorsport broadcasting, Terry went from working at ABC’s Wide World of Sports to one of the earliest employees at a fledgling cable network known as ESPN. Basically handed the reigns at 23 years old to run ESPN’s motorsport broadcasts, Terry has gone on to a five-decade career as the Producer for any number of motorsport broadcasts, from IndyCar, to NASCAR, and of course the epic Thursday Night Thunder.
