Front-engined, rear-drive convertibles may not be the rage the way they were 20 years ago, but there's still heavy competition in the space: Ferrari, Aston Martin, Bentley, Mercedes, and BMW all compete here. The Ferrari Roma is, at long last, a worthy entrant from the prancing horse in this area. It's the last place to get the glorious 3.9L Twin-Turbo V8, and the chassis is fabulously responsive in the twists, and composed on the highway. But compared to other cars in its class, something is missing, particularly at such a high price: the bits that make for a good, usable car, as opposed to a great, fizzy Ferrari.
