The New York Times went through a massive transformation last year. We shut down our data centers and migrated all of our applications to the cloud. Today, NYTimes.com runs on GKE.

NYTimes.com transitioned more than 100+ applications, powered by technology that was decades old, to containerized applications or on serverless architectures. We plan to share our journey, cultural shift, and lessons learned throughout our migration process.
