Google Kubernetes Engine - Forget About Node Provisioning at Last (Cloud Next '18)

Autoscaling Kubernetes workloads is one of the most powerful features of the GKE platform. So far this was happening on two autonomous levels: pod autoscaling - providing more resources to the workload and cluster autoscaling which was adjusting the size of the cluster maximizing performance/cost. Recently launched Vertical Pod Autoscaler and Node Auto Provisioning offered unprecedented configuration of GKE cluster where nodepools are created automatically and allow for fully automatic setups. In this talk we will demonstrate setup with autoscaling happening on both levels at once with automation allowing for user to focus just on the workload.
