Health Taxonomy: Natural Language Processing to Understand Health Research (Cloud Next '18)

Our ongoing project increases navigability and distribution of health research using Google’s Natural Language API. Our Machine Learning process for taxonomy delivered meaningful improvement for executives and policy makers looking to read breaking analysis.

Healthcare transformation in the 21st century should be driven by technological convergence. There is a growing gap between theoretical solutions and practical results, however, as we lag behind other industries due to complexity, regulation, and security requirements unique to health. This small example shows the today potential for creativity in the application of Artificial Intelligence within the healthcare industry without compromising regulatory compliance.
